What our B2B thought leadership experts do
B2B thought leadership at Profile turns what a company's senior people know into published argument. The work opens by choosing the few subjects the firm is prepared to be held to, then produces against them: bylined articles, research, press comment and social, written in the voice of the named individual and signed off by them. Profile's in-house multimedia team captures photography and video to run with the same arguments. Placement follows in the trade and business press, as independent editorial, and the material is structured so it surfaces in search and in AI answers.
How they work
Thought leadership in a business-to-business market fails in a particular way: it becomes a description of what the company sells, written in the third person. Profile's test is whether a piece would still make sense if the company had nothing to sell. If it only works as an argument for the product, it is advertising and belongs in an advertising budget. What earns a citation instead is a position a competitor could disagree with, held by a named person with the standing to hold it. That is harder to produce than a case study, which is why Profile draws it out of the client in interview rather than briefing a writer from a website.
When to bring them in
Companies bring in B2B thought leadership experts when buyers are checking them online before any meeting is offered, when a purchase is decided by a committee over months rather than on features, when journalists are quoting competitors on subjects the company understands better, or when two to five executives need profiling in parallel so the bench looks as deep as it is.

On third-party credibility
“Journalists are valuable precisely because they can say no. Anything that gets past them arrives carrying an assumption a company cannot buy or write for itself, which is that somebody independent looked and thought it stood up.”
